about

Skink was the début release by musician Paul Mulholland.

The album was the fruits of five years of labour. The tracks were
recorded in a variety of locations and situations and mirror a musical and personal journey.

Although the album takes is influenced by bands such as Boards of Canada, Brian Eno, Plaid and the ambient works of Richard D. James (AFX, Aphex Twin), Skink manages to create his own identity
amongst these pioneers.

The album touches on many musical styles from the sparse piano opening track “Nothing” to the dark unsettling ambience of “Minutes turn to Hours” to the melodic and dreamlike “Who we are?”

Best listened to in a single sitting Skink will drag the listener into its rich and complex world of musical ideas and sonic textures.

Originally released in 2007.
